This competition calls on those impacted by Open Data Initiatives to share their stories. The information submitted, if selected as winners, will be rewritten and published by the Partnership for Open Data on any of their platforms, online or offline. The Partnership reserves the right to use any of the information submitted in their future works and publications. 

Judging criteria: Judges will look at how the entrant’s story is unique and useful for developmental initiatives, and communicates the importance of open data to the general public.

Rules

1. Entry to the competition is restricted to one entry per person.

2. Multiple entries, automated entries or bulk entries will be disqualified!

3. Employees of Open Knowledge Foundation, Open Data Institute and The World Bank are not eligible for the competition. However, we welcome them to share any stories they might have directly with the Partnership for Open Data.

4. Prize monies will be awarded only to the individual who submits the winning story via the official form on the competition webpage or through emailing back the downloadable version to rahul.ghosh@okfn.org.

5. Stories must be about open data initiatives in developing countries (as defined by The World Bank).

6. The Partnership reserves the right to use the information submitted in any of their future works and publications. However, we will contact participants for their approval on any edits made for publication purposes to the original submissions.

7. By entering the competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true,  current and complete.

8. On the day of announcement, all participants will be contacted to announce the results. This will be done via email.

9. In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the competition, the decision of the judge(s) shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.

10. Proof of posting or emailing cannot be accepted as proof of delivery. The Partnership cannot accept responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control.

11. The competition will run till 7th April 2014. Winners will be notified within three weeks of closing date.

12. Partnership for Open Data is compliant with the UK data protection act. Our policy is such that we will not pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent. Only the chosen judges from the Open Knowledge Foundation, ODI and World Bank, and editors for Partnership for Open Data will be handling the data gathered.
